The Castelli Romani boasts an excellent food scene and it is considered Lazio’s wine country.
Towns are famous for their products– pane di Genzano, porchetta di Ariccia, fragoline di Nemi anyone? - and go through great lengths to honor, celebrate and exult them, such as through the must-see sagre (festivals). There are rich ties to the local genuine products and dishes, along with emergence of chefs fusing tradition with a modern flare.
Containing 10 DOC and DOCG wines combined, the Castelli Romani has been providing Rome with wine for centuries. Today a quality
movement has been building steam in the region and producers are turning out fascinating
wines.
