The Best Clothes Shopping in the Castelli: Sorelle Ramonda Store & Outlet

Discover one of the best fashion shopping spots in the Castelli Romani: Sorelle Ramonda’s store and outlet for designer brands and great deals.

Living in the Castelli Romani means Rome’s shopping is never too far away. With two teenagers at home, we occasionally make trips to the malls around the GRA for their back-to-school shopping or a wardrobe refresh. I also enjoy wandering the main streets of Genzano, Albano, and Frascati, peeking into boutique windows, where shops such as Giorgio Quinto you can admire beautiful  Italian fashion on display.

The problem? Some of those boutique prices can be eye-watering. As an American who spent years hunting for bargains at department store sales—or places like Marshalls and TJMaxx—I always on the lookout for finding quality clothing at a good price.

Of course, there are the big outlet villages outside Rome, like Castel Romano along the Pontina or Valmontone. Many people turn those into a full day trip, but from the Castelli you’re still looking at about an hour’s drive and they are just too vast and tiring for me.

Sorelle Ramonda

Luckily, there’s a fantastic option much closer to home. Whenever I want great brands, good quality, and the chance to find a real deal without leaving the area, I head to Sorelle Ramonda Store and Outlet.

Located on the Via Appia between Ciampino and Castel Gandolfo, Sorelle Ramonda has two separate buildings right next to one another: a large retail store and an outlet. Both are spacious, single-building stores with a vast selection for men, women, and children, catering to a wide range of ages and sizes.

The Outlet

If you’re looking for bargains year-round, head straight to the outlet building. Here the discounts can be significant—think Max Mara coats marked down by as much as 70%.

What makes this outlet particularly worthwhile is that it sells overstock from their retail stores, rather than mass-produced items made specifically for outlets. In other words, these are genuine designer pieces from previous seasons.

Women who wear Italian size 42 (US 4-6, UK size 10) will find especially good selection, since many designer sample sizes appear here—even from the current season. That said, there are still plenty of options in other sizes, and some sections are organized by size to make browsing easier. The selection is a mix of designers and styles, so a little patience helps—but more often than not, the hunt pays off. I’d say there’s about an 85% chance you’ll walk out with a treasure.

I also never skip the men’s section, where I have picked up for my husband and son. From cashmere sweaters to quality shirts, it’s a great place to find well-made clothing at accessible prices that isn’t fast fashion and will last for years.

The Store

The main retail store carries many well-known Italian and international brands. You’ll find labels such as Armani, Pinko, Twinset, Marella and  Max Mara, alongside brands like Ralph Lauren and Lacoste—all under one roof and divided by designer. The layout makes it easy to browse and compare items: the women’s section is on the entrance level, while downstairs you’ll find men’s and children’s clothing.

The atmosphere is polished but not intimidating. And if some of the higher-end labels are out of reach, the store also stocks stylish brands with more accessible price points, such as Dixie and Rinascimento. When the seasonal sales arrive, the value here is hard to beat.

Why I Love It

Sorelle Ramonda offers the quality and variety you’d expect from a big-city store, but right here in the Castelli. Whether you’re shopping for a special piece, refreshing your wardrobe, or simply hunting for a great deal, it’s one of those places worth knowing about.
