Best Wine Bars & Wine Shops in the Castelli Romani

“Life is too short to drink bad wine”  - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

And time may be too short to search out the best wine bars and wine shops in the Castelli. Therefore I’ve put together a list where it is guaranteed to enjoy an excellent glass of wine, paired with local specialties, served by knowledgeable staff.

Want to take a bottle home?  This list is also a reference point for buying quality wine, bubbles and liquors, along with specialty products perfect for gifts.

Located  in the picturesque Piazza della Liberta  in the heart of Castel Gandolfo,  this enoteca/cafè offers outdoor seating and the chance to admire the Papal Palace, San Tommaso di Villanova Church and fountain (both designed by the Gian Lorenzo Bernini) and catch a glimpse of Lake Albano.  A well curated wine list with an impressive selection of quality local wines.
